Signs you need a Radiator Flush

If your dashboard shows your car is running hotter than normal, your vehicle is overheating or you are leaving puddles of coolant where ever you park it is time to have your cooling system checked out.

Overheating vehicle's arent just caused by hot weather, your engine radiates a lot of extreme heat and it's the cooling system and radiator that does all the work to prevent your car, and you, from being damaged by all that heat. A fluid called coolant in the system provides the means for this and also prevents liquids from freezing whilst protecting the system from rust and corrosion as well.

With time, rust and scale deposits can accumulate and the whole system eventually becomes less effective at cooling and protecting your car. This build up of rust and debris can also damage important components of your cooling system including your water pump, radiator, hoses and thermostat, affecting the lifespan of those parts and leading to expensive repairs or replacements in the future.

Maryborough Service Centre can service your radiator and cooling system properly. Our fully trained and experienced mechanics will perform a proper radiator flush, using a fluid designed to clear out any build up. Once the cooling system is flushed, the cleansing solution is removed and coolent replaced, your car's cooling system will be running like a dream.

Your radiator will be more efficient - and it will last a lot longer. Your engine will run more efficiently and have an increased life expectancy. Get a boost in vehicle performance and power. Your water pump is further protected as it is better lubricated.

Your log book provides recommendations for when your radiator should be flushed, It is mostly suggested that you have your coolant flushed every two years or 40,000 km's depending on which comes first. However, your engine size, local seasons, the quality of your current coolant, and the amount of km's driven can all change how often you need to replace the coolant in your radiator.

At Maryborough Service Centre, we offer a Vehicle Inspection Report for free as part of any minor, major or log book service on your vehicle. This includes inspecting the level and condition of coolant in your system and the written report will tell you if we feel a radiator flush, coolant replacement or any repairs are advised to maintain the safety and performance of your vehicle.
